A Message of Solidarity and Resilience from JCVC

Our Juneteenth Celebration of Ventura County (JCVC) Board and Committee members acknowledge that so many people in our County and across the nation are facing so much stress and hardship due to policies and actions that are inhumane and unjust. 

 

Unfortunately, leaving many in our communities here and across the country struggling to find security and peace. It’s heartbreaking to see so many in our communities bearing the burden of decisions and policies that disrupt their lives. Their pain and trauma deserve to be seen, and they deserve our support. No matter how overwhelming it seems, resistance, resilience and unity can be powerful forces in navigating these many challenges and working toward a better future for all of us.

 

Juneteenth celebrates freedom and supports our democracy. True democracy is not just about elections—it's about protecting rights, promoting dialogue, and creating a system where every voice matters. Let us continue to promote freedom from oppression, encourage liberty and justice for all.
